The first Liturgy

Today is the day of St. Sergius of Radonezh commemoration. The first Liturgy, with the blessing of Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail Agafangel, was held at the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh within the parish church school. It is a landmark for the whole city of Odessa. The Liturgy, blessed by the Bishop, was concelebrated by Archpriest Paul Poleshyuk and local clergy and involved people, youth together with children of God.
Hundreds of local citizens attended the Divine Liturgy. Sergey Kivalov together with others prayed to Sergius of Radonezh, one of the most venerated saints of the Orthodox Church. He said that day, “Great for God is not that one, who has a sense of grandeur about oneself, but one who serves the people. All of us should not only remember the testament of St. Sergius of Radonezh, but follow it. Remembrance Day of Saint Sergius, who is an illustration of meekness and humility, coincides with the day Lawyer’s Day, which we celebrate today. Today we pray for prosperity and peace of our city. I believe in Ukraine, believe in Odessa, as well as believe in blessed future! Let our children gain an opportunity to attend the contemporary school. May God bless all of us holds the Lord for many years”.
After the Liturgy, the treat and celebration for children, arranged by efforts of parish and students, took place in the court of the school.
